Registration
The registration desk, located in Palazzo dei Congressi (see the
map), is opened on Sunday 20 from 5:00 pm
to 8:00 pm, and on Monday 21 from 7:45 am to 6:00 pm.
General Information
Mini-symposia and contributed talks are 20 minutes in length,
plus 5 minutes for questions and comments.
Please read the
Tips for your presentation
Plenary and special lectures, of 40 minutes in length
plus 5 minutes for questions and comments, are held in Auditorium
Mini-symposia and contributed talks are organized in seven parallel sessions,
the lecture rooms are: Auditorium, Fermi, Pacinotti, Galilei,
Room A, Room B, Room C. All the rooms are accessed from the ground floor,
except for
Room Fermi and Room Pacinotti which are accessed from the first floor.
See the
map of the lecture rooms.
Each lecture room has a laptop with Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a projector for the presentations.
Microsoft Power Point is not available.
Don't forget to bring the pdf file with your presentation on a USB flash memory.
For avoiding technical problems and possible slowdowns, we encourage speakers
to send their pdf files
by e-mail to ilas2010@dm.unipi.it, with subject
"slides", within June 16. A confirmation message will be sent as acknowledgment.
Lecture rooms do not have blackboards except for Room C. If you need to use a blackboard
or an overhead projector, please send a message to ilas2010@dm.unipi.it with subject "special request".
There will be only one overhead projector.
First-day box luncheon.
A first-day box luncheon for all participants, paid for by ILAS, is scheduled on Monday 21 at 12:40
in the lobby of Palazzo dei Congressi. Students will be welcomed to the meeting, introduced by mentors or other ILAS members.
Welcome Reception
A welcome reception will be offered by Elsevier, publisher of Linear Algebra and its Applications,
on Monday 21 at 6:00pm.
ILAS Business Meeting
The ILAS Business Meeting is held in the Auditorium on Wednesday 23 at 2:15 PM.
Coffee Break and Lunch
A coffee break will be served in the morning and in the afternoon in the lobby
of Palazzo dei Congressi. A light lunch is served every day in the lobby.
They are included in the registration fee.
Excursion, Concert and and Social Dinner
The excursion is planned on Wednesday 23, at 3:30 PM starting from Palazzo dei Congressi. A concerto by piano, violin and cello,
is offered to all participants in the Church of San Francesco, Piazza San Francesco 4, Pisa,
(see the map).
The social dinner is in the cloister of the same San Francesco Church.
The cost for excursion and social dinner is 59 euros. Participants can register for the banquet and for the excursion up to Tuesday at 12:00 am.
Transportation
Palazzo dei Congressi is easily reachable by foot or by public
transportation from most of the hotels, see the
maps and directions. A van is available
upon request, for transportation
from/to the hotel and Palazzo dei Congressi in the time ranges 8:15am
- 9:30am, 6:00pm - 7:30pm (except on Wednesday) and 2:00pm - 3:30pm
(only on Wednesday).
Since only one van is available, we encourage participants
to use this service only for real needs.
For the van reservation concerning Monday morning,
please send a message to ilas2010@dm.unipi.it with subject ``van
reservation'' within June 14. Concerning Monday afternoon and the
remaining days, the reservation can be made at the registration desk.
